The short version

Just Football is a text-based career sim that runs from a player’s first contract at 17 to retirement, and then on into management. You never play a match on the pitch; you make the decisions that shape the career.

A season works like this: you make three decisions, the season is simulated, and the results — league position, your goals, injuries, trophies, individual awards — come back as headlines.

The three decisions

• Training — which attribute to develop. Finishing, passing, pace, physique and stamina are all on the table, and holding on to the physical ones gets harder with age.
• Transfers — which club to join from the offers on the table. Every offer comes with a role: star player, starter, rotation, or a project for the future. Sitting on the bench at a giant can develop you more slowly than starring at a smaller club.
• Life — what you do with the wages. Investments, property and spending decide your wealth, and what is left at the end is part of the final reckoning.

Retirement and management

The game does not end when the playing career does. You move to the dugout, pick a club, and carry on through the same seasonal loop as a manager. Scouting networks and academy investment strengthen the squad.

At the end, the trophies, the individual awards, the score against your rival and your GOAT ranking are collected onto a single career card.

Saving

Progress saves to your browser automatically, so you can close the tab and pick it up later. Because the save lives on your device, it does not follow you to another computer.
