How to play Six-Fold

The short version

Six-Fold is a horse racing coupon game. You mark a winner in each of six races, lay the coupon down, and watch them run. Miss a single leg and the coupon is dead; hit all six and the payout is the odds of your picks multiplied out.

Reading the card

  • Each leg has between eight and twelve runners. The card shows each horse’s form, its suitability for the distance, and the jockey’s silks.
  • Odds are priced by Monte Carlo simulation — a short price really does mean a strong chance, rather than a number invented after the fact.
  • You can mark more than one horse in a leg. That improves your chances and multiplies the stake: the cost is the combination of everything you picked.

The races

Once the coupon is down, the six races run one after another. The horses follow a real path around an oval track: the straight, the bend, the advantage of the inside rail. After each leg you find out whether your coupon is still alive.

The tracks are real ones: Veliefendi, Şirinyer, Yeşiloba, 75. Yıl, Osmangazi, Kartepe, Diyarbakır, Şanlıurfa and Elazığ.

The bank

You start with a bank, and every coupon comes out of it. Run it dry and you cannot move on to the next card — that is the game’s only real losing condition. Your bank and your records are saved to your browser.

This is a simulation: no real money, no real betting, no payouts.
